Boating Rules for the Kings River Area
This resort and its
owners, managers and employees assume no responsibility for your safety
or harm to your person or property whatsoever while boating, skiing or
participating in any other activity in or around the water areas of the
Kings River. We recommend you adhere to the following rules and use good
judgment in order to prevent possible injuries or property damage.
Failure to do so may
result in the revocation of your rights and privileges to use these
premises and immediate eviction without refund.
1. Life jackets or belts
are to be worn by skiers and children under 12 at all times.
2. Life saving equipment
is to be in the boat for each passenger.
3. No skiing from the
boat launch area or within the 5 m.p.h. “no wake” areas (usually marked
with orange and white buoys).
4. Keep to the right at
all times...pattern skiing only at all times.
5. No passing on the
left at any time. All passing will be done to the right...and when
passing in curves drivers should exercise good common sense and
judgment.
6. Always turn to the
left to pick up a fallen skier and only when it is clear to do so. You
should return immediately to pick up or protect him then start out in
the same direction you were traveling prior.
7. All boat operators
upon sighting a person or persons in the water shall extend his arm
straight up indicating or acknowledging the danger then proceed with
extreme caution.
8. Speed is restricted
to 5 m.p.h. Within 50 feet of launching or swimming beach areas.
9. No more than 2 skiers
are to be towed by a single boat at any time.
10. Do not follow closer
than 100 feet behind any skier.
11. No one is to operate
a boat while intoxicated at any time.
12. No one is to operate
a boat or ski in an unsafe manner thereby endangering themselves or
others.
13. No person is to ride
on the bow of a moving boat except during the use of a trolling motor
while fishing.
14. No skiing after
sunset.
15. You must be at least
12 years old to operate a boat or jet ski.
16. All persons using
this boating area are to do so according to the United States Coast
Guard regulations and State of California boating laws.
